Spring Pet Safety

Hi Pet Moms,
After a long winter, Easter and springtime sure generate a lot excitement with all their beauty and color!
But alas… most of our popular spring flowers - the ones popping up in your yard and maybe being given to you as a gift – can be toxic in one degree or another to our pets!
Dangerous Spring Flowers
Daffodils
Tulips
Primroses
Hyacinths
Hydrangeas
Lilies
and more...
These need to be kept out of the reach of our furbabies.
Obviously, this is more easily done with dogs than cats who seem to get
“everywhere”.
Let’s be thinking ahead of that closed room or high inaccessible
shelf for when our friends or loved ones come over with beautiful posies!
If you aren’t sure about a plant or flower, always check it out online!
You’ll be happy to know that roses are always safe (at least the flowers- not the thorns). These come in such a wide array of colors that they can be appropriate for any season or occasion.
And while we are on the subject of Easter- chocolate, as always, is a no no for dogs and cats but definitely a “yes please” for us hard working pet moms!
Lets all keep safe and have fun as we greet the season of new life!
