The sale of my "Sunflowers for Ukraine" Earrings raised over $1500 for

Humane Society International to aid displaced pets of the war. read about this initiative below.

When I  saw the terrible situation in Ukraine for both humans and animals, I was heartbroken.

I felt helpless in the face of such horror, chaos and devastation. Fleeing your home with your family and animals is unthinkable and having to leave those beloved animals behind even more so.

One day, a supplier sent me an email featuring Sunflower charms. Knowing the important role sunflowers play in Ukrainian culture and that the Sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine, I thought perhaps I could make Sunflower earrings to wear that would show support for the brave people fighting for their country.

Then, the idea came to me that the earrings could also be a benefit project.

Every day, my Facebook feed was filled with stories of people and organizations trying to help displaced people and pets. 

I decided that I would sell Sunflower earrings to both express support for this war torn country and raise funds for Humane Society International's efforts to help pets displaced in Ukraine as well as those fleeing with their owners and the animal shelters still struggling to carry on amid the chaos. 

Friends and family hastily purchased our first 20 pairs. 

New friends on Posh Paws Jewelry's social media continued the momentum, along with support from my other website OperaBracelets.com. 

My assistant Ava helped to finish and package each order. 

More than 80% of each purchase was donated to the cause (The remainder covered supplies).

My heart is filled with gratitude for everyone's support - Thank you!
